Note that in order to use some of the binary distributions, you will need to
install the JPEG library and header
files on your system (direct link to archive:
jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz).
A zip-file with the sources compiled for OS/2 can be found below on this page.
The OS/2 binaries were created using the OpenWatcom compiler. In order to successfully
link against these libraries, it is important to use the same compile flags. The OS/2
binaries here were created using the flags `-e25 -zq -otexan -5s -mf -xs -xr -xr'.
For linking against them also the JPEG library (see above) and the PFI library (see below
for a binary distribution for OS/2) will be needed. The STLPort distribution for OpenWatcom
below is only needed for older OpenWatcom versions, the current version comes with its
own STL. I thus propose to try without first.
WIN32 users should compile the code from the sources. I cannot support Windows, as
it is not one of the platforms I use for my work, however I try to keep the Win32
makefiles up-to-date. When compiling you'll still run across some language-level
compatibility problems or minor glitches with the makefiles. I'll happily accept
patches to improve the situation.
